This Surgery will be offering some early morning, evening and Saturday morning additional sessions for Pre-Booked Routine appointments only.
To book these appointments, you must telephone the Surgery as normal, between 8.30am – 6.00pm Monday – Friday and make the appointment in advance.
We arrange surgeries offering a variety of appointments across the whole day. The Duty Doctor is always available during the working day for urgent medical matters.
| Surgery | Times |
|---|---|
| Normal Surgery hours: | Mon - Fri 8.30am – 6.00pm |
| Extended Surgery hours: | Mondays 6.00pm – 7.30pm |
| Early morning sessions - in rotation: | from 7.30am |
| Monthly Saturday morning sessions: | 8.00am – 10.00am |
Please note that appointments for the Extended Hours, Early Morning and Saturday sessions are pre-bookable ONLY. There may be a limited service, as we have no laboratory transport during these hours, so will be unable to undertake tests that require examination at the hospital (bloods etc).
We remain committed to encouraging people to see the same Doctor for continuation of care. This may become more difficult with the need to cover these extended hours, as clinic times will have to be changed frequently to work these in rotation. Please bear with us while we try to make the system work.
The new sessions are designed to be used by people who may not be able to attend during the “normal” working day.
For non-urgent appointments, you will normally be offered an appointment with your usual Doctor.
You should be able to make an appointment within 48 hours.
There are specialist nurse-run clinics for:
Our Healthcare Assistant holds clinics Monday – Thursday.
Please note that the Hospital van collects samples at around 2.00pm, so please check when you need a blood test:
The doctors and practice nurses are pleased to give telephone advice. You may be asked to ring back or leave a contact telephone number if your doctor or practice nurse is not immediately available. You will be told when your call is likely to be returned.
When requesting a telephone consultation, please explain to the Receptionist a brief outline of your problem. The Receptionist may be able to direct you to another member of our Team who could answer you questions, or she will pass your concerns on to the Doctor, who can then prioritise their calls.
Please note: We have had the 1471 BT number trace removed from all our telephone lines for confidentiality. This means that if we ring you, our number will be reported as "withheld" when you dial 1471.
We will not leave a message in order to protect your confidentiality, unless you have told us this is acceptable.
If you cannot keep an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible, so that it can be used by someone else.
You can also cancel appointments On-Line.
If you are housebound or too unwell to attend the Surgery, ring 01794 512218. You will be put through to the Doctors Secretary and asked for brief details of your symptoms, to enable the Doctor to prioritise visits for the day. Where possible, please telephone by 10.30am for a visit that day, or telephone in advance for a visit on another day, with your own Doctor.
Urgent Visits will be dealt with appropriately – a visit or advice may be arranged with the Duty Doctor, rather than your usual Doctor.
Home visits and urgent health problems are dealt with by the Out of Hours Service from 6.30pm – 8.00am and at weekends and Bank Holidays.
If you need to contact a Doctor when we are closed, please telephone our usual appointment number 01794 512218 – you will either be put through to the Out of Hours Service or you will be given a telephone number on which to reach the Duty Doctor.
The Out of Hours service should only be used if you have an urgent medical problem that cannot wait until normal surgery hours - not for an appointment or prescription request.
Hampshire Primary Care Trust ensures good quality care is provided when we are closed and can provide details of other primary medical services in the area.
